The 89 6024 belongs to Henschel's Bismarck type, which was developed specifically for private and industrial railways. The design is based on the Prussian class T 3 locomotives.
The Henschel type Bismarck is a three-axle steam locomotive that Henschel & Sohn developed for private and industrial railways. However, although they are based on the Prussian T 3, these locomotives are sturdier and more technically advanced. The number of locomotives built is not known exactly.
Our locomotive 89 6024 built in 1914 began its career as locomotive 41 at the Kyffhäuser narrow-gauge railway. From 1925 it belonged to the Erfurt-Nottleben narrow-gauge railway as locomotive 2, from 1941 to the Bebitz-Alsleben narrow-gauge railway as "269". It received its current fleet number in 1949, when this railway was nationalized in the GDR. Its last use was as an industrial locomotive at the Görlitz repair workshop. In 1977 it was sold to the DDM.
