This task includes the maintenance, exhibition, scientific and educational reprocessing and the presentation of the steam locomotives, steam locomotive technology in general and the steam operation of the historical and functioning ensemble of station and motive power depot with coal yard (museum).
In this context, the significance of the railway for the industrial and economic development of Upper Franconia and the social interrelations of the "railway as an employer" shall be illustrated using the example of the railway village of Neuenmarkt. This includes the historical structure "Schiefe Ebene".
