Only five years after the first ride of a steam train between Nürnberg and Fürth King Ludwig the first decided to build a 566km long railway line from Lindau in the south of his empire to the northern borderline to Saxonia.
Next to this track was the farmer´s village Neuenmarkt - so small and insignificant that not even a trainstop was planned here.
Once the mountainway - which could already be used by locomotives - was recontructioned to the „Schiefe Ebene“, auxiliary locomotives were stationed here.
This fast development of traffic made Neuenmarkt into a railway-village with numerous specialitys which will be told from the view of a railroad friend in a cozy 3 km long walk.
